AJ Whiffen made 17-saves to lead the Weyburn Red Wings to a 7-0 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Tuesday night and at the same time setting a new SJHL regular season record for career shutouts with his 11th career dough-nut.
It was Whiffen's 4th shutout of the season and it lowered his league leading goals against average to 2.14.
Whiffen has recorded a shutout in two of his last three starts.
The old record of 10 career shutouts was set by Taylor Nelson of the Humboldt Broncos in 2007-08.
Heading into the final two weeks of the season, Humboldt's Andrew Bodnarchuk and Flin Flon's Matt Weninger each have 9 career shutouts.
