§§  Fellner Farms Rock Em Sock Em Award  §§

Fellner Farms presents six monthly awards starting with October.  Each award is presented at the first home game of the following month.  Points are given for each game based on the extra effort displayed by the players.  Points are given for such things as blocking shots, aggressive checking, hard work in the corners, and even for the odd fight if points are warranted.  At the end of the season all points are added up and a yearly winner is declared.  The 2009-2010 season is the 15th year of the Rock Em Sock Em Awards.

October 2009

“We are into another exiting season of Red Wing hockey and with that comes another season of the Fellner Farms Rock Em Sock Em Awards.

This month's Rock Em Sock Em winner is a player who started with the Wings last year and has come back this season with a vengeance.  He is displaying a combination of skills and toughness.  This Red Wing forward does not back down and seems to rather enjoy the rough going.  Fellners Farms is pleased to present October's Rock Em Sock Em award to #23 Lucas Ulmer.“

November 2009

“Welcome to another Rock Em Sock Em presentation.  The month of November has brought some ups and downs but mostly close action packed hockey.

This month's Rock Em Sock Em winner is not known for his bone jarring hits, or a hard nosed, penalty filled style of play.  However, he is a veteran forward who has put extra effort into his hockey ice time to capture the November Fellner Farms Rock Em Sock Em award.  Please join with us is saying thanks to this months winner #9 Rhett Bly.“

December 2009

“Happy New Years hockey fans.

The end of December brought with it an 8 point lead in the Sherwood Division.  The first home game of January 2010 brings with it a Rock Em Sock Em winner for December.  This months winner has racked up up a bunch of Rock Em Sock Em points.  Although the number of games in December is not great, this Red Wing defenceman has stepped up his play.  His smart aggressive play has earned this Red Wing veteran the Fellner Farms Rock Em Sock Em award for December.  Please join in saying thanks to #5 Andrew Perrault.“

January 2010

“Hockey Fans.
With the beginning of February we can see the end of the regular season and also the naming of the January Fellner Farms Rock Em Sock Em winner.  Before we do that however, we must give a special mention, something we have not done before.  Tonight's special mention is Tanner Erickson who racked up several Rock Em Sock Em points in the last game he played.
Tonight's winner is also a previous month's winner, something that hasn't happened in a long time.  However, January's recipient came to play every game last month.  It would be our belief he is gearing himself up for playoffs.  Game in and game out he came with the extra effort which earned him the January Rock Em Sock Em trophy.  Once again we say thanks to #5 Andrew Perrault.”

February 2010

“Hockey Fans.
Welcome to the Fellner Farms Rock-Em Sock-Em nite. The regular season is over with the Wings #1 overall and tonight starts the playoffs.  The only way it can get better than that is by recognizing February's Rock-Em Sock-Em winner.  This Red Wing rookie has been playing good hockey since the beginning of the season but has really elevated his game in the last six weeks.  Hard work and extra effort has made this Red Wing forward an easy choice for February's Rock-Em Sock-Em honor.  Please join me in saying thanks to #4 Daniel Adams.”

March 2010

“The March winner of the Rock Em Sock Em Award is a 1st time recipient.  Although March did not bring with it a lot of games, this Red Wing veteran threw enough body checks to earn enough Rock Em Sock Em points to capture the March Rock Em Sock Em Trophy.  Please join in saying Thanks and a tip of the Red Wing cap to #19 Tyler Penny.“

2009-2010 Season

“Although the Red Wing season was not as long as any of us had hoped, we are not here to dwell on what might have been but rather on the positive of the things that were.  And definitely one of the positives was the play of the 2009 - 2010 Rock Em Sock Em recipient.  This Red Wing forward plays a rugged style of hockey, one that is necessary to keep the other team honest.  He is also not afraid to drop the gloves when called upon.  Another positive for the Weyburn Red Wings is that this young man will also be here next season.  It is a priviledge for me to present the 2009 - 2010 Rock Em Sock Em Trophy to #23 Lucas Ulmer.“
