Weyburn Red Wings Extend Director of Performance to enhance Player Development Opportunities

The Weyburn Red Wings, are thrilled to announce the extension of Kyle McDonald as the
Director of Performance. Kyle has demonstrated to be a key addition to the team’s leadership.
This role is a testament to the Red Wings’ dedication to achieving an environment that promotes coach and athlete growth.

McDonald is responsible for overseeing individual performance of rostered players and starting
this year developing a prospect program that emphasizes holistic development. Continuing to
build this role allows the coaching staff to enhance team efficiencies and drive continuous
improvement both on and off the ice. With a proven track record of success in athletic
performance optimization and leadership, McDonald brings a wealth of experience that will be
instrumental in guiding the Weyburn Red Wings towards their ambitious competitive objectives.

Cody Mapes (GM/Head Coach). “Kyle brings a dynamic approach and a wealth of expertise that
will be critical in our mission to elevate our performance standards and achieve excellence in the
SJHL.”

This will be McDonald’s 3rd year with the Red Wings in a program that continues to evolve the
player development opportunities. “I am honored to continue to build a one of kind program here in Weyburn” said McDonald. “I look forward to continue our collaboration with players and staff here to drive performance excellence and contribute to the team’s continued success.”

With the continued development of this type of role, the Red Wings look to build on delivering a
top-tier junior experience for their players and staff as they prepare for the 2024-2025 season.
